No wonder it got heated. From the first 20 minutes sounded like u called someone dickbrain and said Adam and Eve live in San Francisco, then exited leaving them with a screen capture to debate it with. But really, from what was audible after that, I agree with your position. They seem like fools or tools. The guy on the far right not only on this issue either

I went over to see what UGO was up to.  He republished an old article that had been very successful.  I went to the old article and found:

I think when talking about Cycles vs One-Shots, people tend to try to make the facts fit what they believe, rather than make what they believe fit the facts.

In the case of the Earth and multiple cycles, a philosophy developed that because there have been multiple cycles before this, there will be multiple cycles afterwards also. A Historian like JMG looks at historical cycles of Civilizations, and then projects there will be many more similar cycles.

This doesn't take into account the increasing complexity of the cycles, the increased use of Energy through the cycles and the changing Energy output of the Sun as time goes by here.

The geological conditions which got us to where we are today are unlikely to repeat. Beyond that, in the 500M years or so of multicellular life on the planet, only one Sentient species ever evolved. So it is a pretty big stretch to imagine that 2 more will evolve after this in maybe 200M more years where such life is even possible at all on the planet.

This doesn't mean there are not Universal Cycles of recreation, there may well be but not here on Earth in the time left, at least it is highly unlikely.

About the only thing you can say for sure is that regardless of whether we burned all that oil, we would eventually go extinct anyhow. We may have accelerated the process some here, as I said over on George's blog, its like Smoking for a person. Quitting might help you live a little longer, but you still would end up dead in the end. The only CHANCE was to get off the Earth in some sort of Interstellar Starship, and we shot the wad trying to come up with Energy Technology that would make such a thing possible. That Holy Grail was Fusion Power. We never got it, and as things spin down here, it is unlikely we ever will now.

So now it is not a matter of IF we will go extinct, just WHEN.

Thanks for watching, the technical issues are fixed.  This Saturday I am talking about Carbon Dividends.

Marcus starts with the Anna Kasperian / Jimmy Dore controversy.

Jump ahead to 51:12 for Carbon Dividends.

And leave a comment if you can.

So is Cenk Ugur not a serious leftist because when one Democrat candidate dropped out of primary race and put his support behind the successful one, Cenk supported the party candidate as well...or did he support Hillary over Bernie from the beginning? I can't be the only one to see the irony of saying he's not a serious news source while the whole time displaying his favoured news person, Kasparian flipping the bird behind him.

The 15 yr old clip where Britney Spears did a gash flash getting out of a limo. That was when her music was over and she got a few more minutes of fame, there were a few others who did it as well.  Cenk said he doesn't care about the flashing but criticised her weight. Everyone in the media was criticizing her weight then with some comeback performance at Grammys or Oscars (forgetting she was no longer a teenager and had 2 children), South Park even did an episode on it. Cenk is a clown for sure but he wasn't alone in sending Britney Spears insane.

I don't always know what Marcus is talking about, or that everyone would agree he is right. It would help to introduce the topic. I had to look up Jimmy Dore and where he says Kasparian is blackmailing him.  It is not as he thought, bringing up what he said about showing him and the audience her ass being wrong, rather than her doing it being wrong, but a message threatening to me too him for other things in private.

He says his apology was a card he sent at the time, him now telling what it's all about looked awkward, expectedly, but isn't meant to be another apology.

Marcus mentions Assange, Russiagate and a number of other issues with TYT being wrong, but does not say what their position was so I don't know where they stood on any of those. I have no idea if Marcus is a true progressive and thinks Russia hacked the 2016 election or whether he is right wing and soft on russia, another Putin stooge as the saying goes. He agreed with the take that any defence of Dore does make you right wing with the clip under the heading "so I'm right wing now?"

It seems now you can't be a progressive and believe if you have Monica Lewdinsky in the oval orifice, Hillary Clinton could have concern or complain. Try putting this to the test and hiring an 18 year old assistant or maid who wears skimpy clothing and  see if the other women in the office or house still think not making her uncomfortable is paramount.

I remember one time way back in 2000 when a Barbie doll like creature came and gave a presentation on something I forget now. In the lunch room all the women couldn't shut up about her. I got so fed up I said 'come on give her a break, you all could probably stop traffic too in your day'. They all erupted laughing, but their instinctive initial reaction probably comes from being threatened by her like Sarah was by Hagar in the Old Testament. All that in group preference of the sisterhood covering for each other, which I've seen plenty of too (this same group were all gushing over wedding arrangements for one of them while she was having an affair with one of the married guys in our department, and they all knew). All that evaporates when a new nubile might bear another heir, like Ishmael that threatened to subtract from Isaacs inheritance. The claws come out and they're sent into the desert.

At 36.30 you have your own incident like Jimmy Dore and the said Steph. Kasparian is only a white woman that Dore embarrassed and someone called Steph laughed at. Marcus saying that companies advertising LGBTQ is bullshit and you laughing is a more serious crime than theirs in intersectionality. If chenk or dore said that today, not ten and fifteen years ago before gender dysphoria became ideal and nudity became modesty, they would be traded to fox news tomorrow.

For a damsel in distress, she can work it.  This is the kind of woman who believes nasty rumors.  They feed on drama.  Best avoided.  But then again, the hot blood could be stimulating.  She would wear a short skirt just to catch you looking so she could call you a pig.  That works for some people.
