I made the 2nd of my goals today, passing my 65th Birthday outside the Gulag.

However, it's not  looking good for another year.  My condition has markedly deteriorated over the last 2 months.  If I do not appear here for a couple of days, it has  gone south.

This sucks.  I'm really sorry things are going to hell for you, RE.  Hang in there as long as you can.  I wish you had people closer.

🏥 Back in the hospital again

This trip is looking pretty bad.  Also, my phone crashed and right now I can't be reached except by email.  I haven't  got Skype set up yet.  This is  a new computer.

Sorry to hear this. Hope they are taking good care of you where you are, for as short a time as you hopefully have to stay. Last month I had to put my mother in a home, advancing Alzheimers. She won't be coming back out, which is just flat out depressing.

Forget the home, my hospital stay is looking like it will be increasingly long, and I am doubting I will come out of there in anything but a body bag.

What happened?

A new infection in the remaining leg.  Another amputation is out of the question.  I don't want to live as a double amputee.

The ASTOUNDING cost of End of Life care
« Reply #128 on: February 04, 2023, 03:41:37 am »
OK Sports fans. have a guess what the monthly nut is to warehouse me in a "Skilled Nursing Facility" until I finally buy my ticket to the Great Beyond?  Most of the cost is picked up by Medicare & Medicaid, but (hint) my Copay is $921.50/month.  Diner closest to the actual total monthly charge wins a Kewpie Doll.

As the saying goes , it costs an arm and a leg to live here..

You're shifting out of the last place you had, or been in hospital all this time?

I was moved from Hospital to the SNIF after they knocked down the cellulitis.  I am now a Long Term Care resident of said SNIF.  I had to give up my apartment.  The At-Home Care system has completely become a dysfunctional mess.  The SNIF is a nice step up from Assisted Care if you can qualify for it.  The cost however is beyond belief.  Have a guess.
