Balancing the books is for the little people.
And doing data is for the analytical people. 
I mean really, are we not thinking doomers, rather than propaganda swilling and spewing charlatans? Are we fact oriented, or do we just say things that aren't true and hope our doomer buddies don't call us on it? The condition of humanity in general was advanced by one crowd, the other turned into the Church, unthinkingly humming the mantra and reciting the dogma as we are ordered by the priests?
That is a lot to parse. The root of the problem is that humans use language to describe reality, but reality is also created by language.
