Another Triumph of Capitalism

Perhaps this belongs in the economy thread - but you guys seem to be on a roll there.

I find it ironic, to say the least, that while the US government is doing everything it can to provoke a war with Russia in the Ukraine, they have no problem with suppliers selling Russian ammo online.  Since the start of the plandemic I've kept track of ammo price and availability, along with price and availability of some firearms.  I view this as one barometer of public sentiment.  For a while now, in the sources I monitor, good 12GA buckshot has been $1 a round - sometimes more.  This as availability of relatively inexpensive shotguns has lately increased with a flush of Turkish imports.

Well, that has changed.  This ad is part of a sale going on with SG Ammo.  $.62 per round in a box of 15.  $.47 per round in a case of 120.

"PRODUCT DETAILS
Fetter 12 Gauge 00 Buck is a reliable choice for a variety of roles, from deer hunting to personal defense and home defense. These shells are made with consistency and careful attention to detail just outside of Moscow. The translucent plastic hull provides smooth feeding and extraction in semi-auto or classic pump shotguns...."

So, while the masters of war plan their next profitable enterprise, they have no problem with making a few quick bucks on the side.  The populace is largely distracted with Big Pharma's latest profit-at-any-cost-to-human-health enterprise.  War has very little support among the populace - but that rarely matters to the profiteers.

What is it good for?  Who benefits?
